Orlando is a global hub of innovation and industry and here at The Celeste Hotel we are extending a warm Tribute Portfolio welcome to any and all visitors tapping into that arena!
Siemens and Lockheed Martin are two leading companies with branches in East Orlando.
Siemens in Orlando
Based in Munich, Siemens—among Europe’s very biggest industrial manufacturers—has had an important presence in Orlando for better than three decades. The company maintains more than a dozen facilities here, including the Siemens Gamesa Wind Service Training Center and the Siemens Mindsphere Application Centers, and employs close to 5,000 in the area.
One in five of those Orlando-area Siemens employees are alumni of the University of Central Florida, where the hotel is located. Indeed, Siemens and UCF are close partners, collaborating on 100-plus research initiatives over the years and working together on campus at the Siemens Energy Center as well as the Center of Innovation for Diagnostics and Prognostics and the Digital Grid Innovation Lab.
Lockheed Martin in Orlando
One of the world’s biggest companies in the aerospace, advanced technology, security, and defense industries, Lockheed Martin has also long been associated with Orlando: As the Glenn L. Martin Corporation, it first opened doors here back in 1956. Today, Lockheed Martin employs some 8,000 Orlando-area workers, a substantial proportion of them graduates of UCF as well as Valencia College.
Lockheed Martin’s Rotary and Mission Systems branch bases its Training and Logistics Solutions (TLS) right here in Orlando. The TLS center offers virtual and augmented reality, simulation, and other advanced training and services to the U.S. military and dozens of international clients.
