Come join us for great food and plenty of fun, all for an exceedingly good community cause, at The Celeste Hotel’s Fall Festival Food Drive on Sunday, October 16th from 3 to 6 PM.
We’re throwing this charitable get-together to benefit the University of Central Florida Knights Helping Knights Pantry, a vital service on this wonderful UCF campus we call home here at The Celeste.
Introducing the UCF Knights Helping Knights Pantry
The cost of admission for our Fall Festival Food Drive is either a $25 donation to the Knights Helping Knights Pantry or a box of canned goods.
Established in 2009 as part of a first-year LEAD Scholars class project and now supported by the UCF Student Union, Student Government Association, and community donors, the Knights Helping Knights Pantry aids UCF students who could use a helping hand. As its mission statement explains, the Pantry supports such students “by providing basic needs including food, clothing, and personal hygiene items to foster continued academic success and increase retention for students in need.”
Located in its own dedicated Ferrell Commons suite, the Knights Helping Knights Pantry serves more than 100 UCF students daily from Monday through Friday.
The Fall Festival Food Drive at The Celeste Hotel
Community food drives are an essential part of what keeps the Knights Helping Knights Pantry going. The Celeste’s Fall Festival Food Drive will be funneling all donations to the Pantry. We’re incredibly proud to be part of the UCF community as campus’s only luxury hotel, and we’re definitely hoping for a big turnout to help sustain this important university resource!
Our event will include a delicious spread of free food supplied by our Aurora restaurant’s very own Executive Chef Mike Trudnak. There’ll be live entertainment courtesy of DJ Benny Velez from 96.5 FM, plus a bevy of activities, from games, silent auctions, and raffles to souvenir shots with local celebrity mascots: UCF’s Knightro and Shades from the Orlando Solar Bears hockey team.
