UCF Knights 2021 Football Season: Full Capacity at the Bounce House

The plan for full-capacity football at the Bounce House comes as vaccinations and other measures have reduced COVID-19 risk, and is based on Florida Board of Governors guidance. It’s also in sync with revised protocols across Florida’s State University System institutions.

A New Era Launches for the UCF Knights

That’s not the only exciting news coming out of UCF”s football outfit this year. The Knights have a brand-new head coach in the form of Gus Malzahn, who comes to UCF from Auburn University. There he landed 77 wins over eight seasons, each of which ended in a bowl appearance.

Malzahn expressed eagerness—and ambition—on the UCF Knights website. “You just feel the positive excitement when you go around campus,” he said. “It’s set up for success.”

And Knights fans everywhere can surely get behind his stated expectations: “We believe the future of college football is here at UCF.”

“Set Up For Success” Indeed

The Knights have quite the foundation to build upon, being the sole team in college football to have ranked in the nation’s top eight in both total offense and in scoring over the past three seasons.

Last season, the 6-4 Knights came out on top in fumbles recovered and ranked second and fourth in total offense and passing, respectively. Quarterback Dillon Gabriel, meantime, threw more passing yards (an impressive 357) than any other college signal-caller.
